The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
government in Madhya Pradesh is having some
pricey fun at the expense of poor, hapless
farmers. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP
government has allegedly splurged hundreds of
crores on its 57th foundation day.
This came even as it refused to waive off
around Rs 20 crore to farmers displaced by the
Omkareshwar dam. Farmers are required to
pay back Rs 20 crore to the government in
order to get land as compensation for that
acquired by the government for the
Omkareshwar dam.
