Living with an inflated ego can rob you of many things in life, like your sleep and mental peace. When ego comes into the picture, everything else in your life leaves. Listen to Mahatria explain why letting go of your ego is important and how it can impede your personal growth.
Once, there was a crow that was flying with a piece of meat in its beak. Soon, a flock of other birds began chasing after the crow. The farther away it flew, a greater number of birds began flying after it. Eventually, it occurred to the crow that the other birds were not after it, but rather, were after the meat.
Realizing this, the crow dropped the meat and watched as the other birds dove after it. The simple act gave the crow the freedom of the skies to fly wherever it wanted.
That piece of meat is your ego, Mahatria explains. People often think that the world is targeting them, is nasty towards them, but in reality, it is their ego that is hurting.
When ego comes into the picture, everything else in your life leaves. When ego exits from your life, everything else returns. Letting go of your ego will help you reclaim freedom to lead life the way you want.
Living with an inflated ego means living in this eternal need to prove your worth to the world. You do not need the world’s validation. You are accountable to your creator, to your own conscience, and to the truth, Mahatria reminds us. There is no need to get the entire world’s approval.
If you try to make everyone happy with who you are, then you will never be at peace with yourself. It is impractical to believe that you can make everyone happy; it is an unrealistic demand that your ego has. Drop your ego identities, Mahatria urges.
Be a seeker. Look for transformation.
Explaining his own standpoint, Mahatria clarifies that when he takes the stage, there is no sense of status, but only an immense responsibility.
Tracing his story backwards, he says that through his journey of creating infinithoughts, he met many people along the way who inspired him. This prompted him to write a column titled “Salute”.
After 25 years, Mahatria went back to his alma mater, his high school, and spoke with the headmaster. Through that conversation, his headmaster, Clement Felix, narrated an incident that transformed the way Mahatria looked at life after that point.
Headmaster Felix had built a chapel inside his school, and was the first headmaster to do so. It gave him immense pride at first, he had admitted to Mahatria. Eventually though, the Headmaster recognized his own arrogance. He went up to the Church, got down on his knee and proclaimed to the Creator that he would no longer take credit for building the chapel.
“The time for the church to be built had come, and I happened to be the Headmaster of the school at the time. Thank you, Lord, for making me the Headmaster of the school at a time when the building came into existence,” Headmaster Felix recalled to Mahatria. “With or without me, thy will would have brought the church there. Thank you for the benevolence that I was the Headmaster at that time.”
The story, Mahatria says, had a deep impact on him. Ever since, he no longer credits himself for people’s transformation. Instead, he recognizes that he is merely an intermediary who happens to be present in the life of people whose time for awakening had arrived.
Let Your Ego Go

Udupi (Karnataka), Dec 29 (ANI): Pejavara Mutt Seer Vishwesha Teertha Swami passed away in Karnataka's Udupi on December 29. The information of his death was provided by Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat. He was shifted to Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt from KMC Hospital considering the critical illness. Earlier, all arrangements of ventilator and ICU units have been kept ready in the Mutt for his treatment. There is no perfect path for anybody, Mahatria explains. Freedom to explore is good, but endless exploration makes you a wandering generality. The foundation needs to be strong, but at some point, the construction needs to begin. Focus will have to set in at some stage. Narrow down on one path and build the necessary expertise.
Parenting skills evolve from one generation to the next.
Explaining yesteryear parenting, Mahatria points out how back in the day, parents were the primary decision-making authorities when it came to a person’s future. Parents would decide whether their child would be an entrepreneur, a doctor, a lawyer, or a chartered accountant, and the child would have to follow through. The child was rarely given an option to choose.
In fact, children born into entrepreneurial families would have to carry on the same business, working from the same office that their grandfathers set up, whether or not they had any inclination or the skill to pursue it.
The Good, The Bad, and the Work in Progress.
With the newer generation, parents are more forthcoming when it comes to personal choice, Mahatria says. They encourage their children to seek out new experiences and believe that exposure is necessary to discover strengths.
This has led to cross-experienced families – an entrepreneur’s child seeks out a steady professional career while another kid with no business background may take up entrepreneurship. Parents are supportive with their child’s educational ambitions or career experiments. Unlike their own parents, they do not impose.
However, this comes with its own pitfall. The negative aspect here is that, in a bid to give them freedom, parents sometimes allow children to become a wandering generality forever, Mahatria says. In this pursuit of experimentation and horizontal discovery, some children never find stability.
There is no perfect path for anybody, Mahatria explains. The ones who decide on a path stick to it and grow into it. Retain the positive parenting skills of the present and change the negative, Mahatria advices.
The foundation needs to be strong, but the building will also have to built at some point. The exploring will have to end at some stage, and focus will have to set in. Freedom to explore is good, but at some point, children will have to narrow down on one path and build their strength there. Watch the Video now for full details :

How you use your time dictates your life. That on which you invest your time decides the quality of life that you will have.
Beware of where your time goes. Before investing your time and energy towards something, ask whether it will add any value either to you, or to the world, Mahatria recommends. Is time spent on frivolous things or invested on futuristic things?
We need distractions in life to stay focused. Distractions are valid, but they should not become an obsession.
Time is precious and life keeps moving on. There is no time to waste on frivolous things. You cannot wait for ten years to chase after your dreams. Do what you can now. Find the sense of urgency, Mahatria says. Make your time count. Watch the Video now for full details :
