Maya, from Dornapal - a Naxal-affected area of Sukma, has become the first girl from the district to qualify for an MBBS. Beating all odds she is all set to study medicine and become a doctor. Dornapal is infamous for its notorious Naxal activities. Despite a financial crisis and her father passing away, Maya continued to pursue her dream and finally achieved it. "I have always dreamt of becoming a doctor. I would like to dedicate my service as a doctor to the people of this place", she said. "Our family & Maya had to face a lot of financial crisis after the death of our father. Even after facing some many difficulties, Maya remained determined towards her aim and achieved it.
