a bid to address complaints that
innocent Muslim youth are falsely
implicated in terror cases. The
Home Ministry has agreed to set
up special courts to conduct
speedy trials in such cases. Home
minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in a
letter to minority affairs minister K
Rahman Khan also promised action
against officers responsible for
"knowingly" holding innocent
persons in custody. However,
Shinde's letter sets no time frame
for setting up such courts.
