traffic constable accompanying the
ASI has also been severely injured
in the attack and is currently
hospitalised. Yesterday, Assistant
Sub-Inspector of Punjab Police
Ravinderpal Mangat along with a
police party was patrolling outside
a University at Sidhuwal village in
Patiala. The ASI signalled a
speeding truck to stop at a check
point near the campus. However,
the truck driver didn't slow down.
The ASI chased the truck and
dragged out the driver. There was a
scuffle and the truck driver beat up
the ASI so hard that he died. The
other constable Amanpal Singh is
also battling for life.
