SC asks CBI to explain the delay in
filing appeal against the Allahabad
High Court order dropping
conspiracy charges against Kalyan
Singh, Advani, MM Joshi and others
in Babri Masjid demolition case.
Court wanted to know why there
was a delay of 196 days in filing
the appeal. The lawyers for Kalyan
Singh, Advani Ji and others argued
that the delay should not be
condoned and CBI's application
should be dismissed on the
technical grounds only. Court
adjourned the matter till 13th
February saying CBI shall not be
allowed to file any further affidavit.
