Telanagana row: 7 AP MPs to meet Sonia today || Andhra India State Controversy

The court will today hear a petition
filed before the Malkajgiri court of
Ranga Reddy district. BJP's State
Executive Committee member,
Satish Agarwal has alleged that the
Congress had, in its manifesto
before the 2004 general elections,
promised to carve a separate
Telangana state out of Andhra
Pradesh. Ranga Reddy, the BJP
leader has sought the court to
issue a direction to the police to
register of a case under cheating
and other relevant sections of the
Indian Penal Code against the UPA
chairperson. Meanwhile, upset over
the Congress led UPA deferring a
decision on Telangana statehood;
as many as seven Congress MPs
from the Telangana region are
poised to resign. The MPs are
expected to arrive in Delhi today to
tender their resignation.
