Sonu Nigam recently made it to the headlines after it was reported that he had commented he wished he was born in Pakistan. Clarifying his statement, the actor said that he was quoted out of the context and he meant it only as a joke. Elaborating on it he said that Indian singers are asked to pay a considerable amount to the music companies whereas the foreign singers such as Pakistani singers are exempted from it. He said this only from the point of view of business. The singer has also added that this does not mean that we should ban Pakistani singers and he is against the idea.
