Five children from some of the most marginalised communities in India. They might be from diverse backgrounds, but they share two passions - music and the Chennai Children’s Choir (CCC). Started in 2015 by Chennai-based non-profit NalandaWay Foundation, CCC has helped bridge the lines that might have divided these children, due to religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status, caste, or disabilities. NalandaWay’s founder, Sriram V Ayer believes that exposing children to the arts and giving them a voice to express themselves, will eradicate fear and ignorance, and build a more inclusive and tolerant society. Through various free programmes, in visual arts, dance, music, theatre, radio and film, NalandaWay benefits more than 50,000 children every year in schools across India.
