Another Corporal punishment shocker to the
fore, a class five student in Kannauj died after
reportedly being beaten by his teacher. The
family claims that the boy returned home late
and was very weak. He was rushed to the
hospital when he collapsed but died a few hours
later. The school principal maintains the boy
was sent back home since he was unwell.
However, police claim there are signs that the
boy was beaten. A post-mortem report is
awaited.
