Lisa Rani Ray is a Canadian-Indian actor, writer, model and philanthropist. She shot to fame in the fashion industry when she appeared in a black swimsuit for a Bombay Dyeing advertisement and in a red swimsuit on the cover of Glad Rags magazine. Lisa Ray also appeared in the music video for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's iconic song Afreen Afreen. Lisa Ray has worked in several Hindi and Telugu movies. including 'Water' which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2005. In 2009 Lisa Ray had to undergo stem cell transplant surgery to fight a rare type of cancer that she had acquired. In 2010 she was declared cancer-free.
