The Harley-Davidson LiveWire is here in India! Well, sort of. The fully-electric motorcycle isn't on sale in India just yet, but we got a chance to take a spin on it on Indian roads to see if this motorcycle can deliver excitement with a clean conscience. Powered by a 15.5kWh lithium-ion battery, the Livewire silently manages a travel range of about 235km. The real kicker, though, is its performance. You've heard of the Flathead, Panhead, Knucklehead, Milwaukee-Eight and Revolution, but driving the Livewire is a Revelation, or rather, THE Revelation motor. Harley-Davidson's very first electric motor produces about 105PS of power and 116Nm of torque. As you'd expect from an electric motor, there's no wait for the torque to arrive, helping the Livewire launch its way from 0-100kmph in just 3 seconds, with 100-130kmph taking 1.3 seconds! It also has a quick charge time, taking 40 minutes for an 80 per cent charge with a 0-100 per cent charge taking just one hour, both with fast chargers. Hero has entered the family 125cc scooter segment with the Destini 125. It is India’s most affordable 125cc scooter on sale with the base model priced at Rs 54650 and for roughly three thousand rupees more, you get alloy rims. The Destini 125 is the only scooter in India to get a start/stop feature as Hero’s patented i3S tech makes its way down from their motorcycles. 8.83PS and 10.2Nm is produced from its 125.6cc single-cylinder engine. The G 310 R is BMW Motorrad’s foray into the world of small capacity motorcycles. This baby Beemer shares the same ainternals, i.e. chassis, engine, gearbox, suspension and even wheels, with the TVS Apache RR 310, and in fact, is produced in the same factory as the Apache, in Hosur. Launched along with its adventure-touring sibling, the G 310 GS in mid-2018, the G 310 R remains one of the most expensive motorcycles in the 300-500cc segment. But it does offer great build quality and use of top-notch materials everywhere. Performance-wise, it’s at par with its TVS cousin, and offers the best ride quality in its class.

The BMW G 310 R is powered by a 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 34PS @ 9500rpm and a peak torque figure of 28Nm. This power comes in slightly lower compared to the Apache RR 310, and the torque figure is slightly higher. And even though it has the exact same 6-speed gearbox as the Apache, it’s running slightly different final gearing thanks to different sized sprockets. It gets 41mm upside down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the back. Braking comes from a single 300mm front disk with a 4-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a floating caliper. ABS is standard. It runs a 110/70 R17 front tyre and a 150/60 R17 rear tyre. Kerb weight is a fairly light 158kg.
