Ashu Mailk is a 'Gotakhor', a diver, who pulls dead bodies from the trash in canals. He has been doing this work for almost 28 years now. In 28 years, he has pulled over 46,000 people, including those who were rescued by his team. Malik told The Wire that divers put their lives at risk for their job.
