News of a whistleblower killed in Bareilly in
UP, allegedly by the ration shop mafia, after he
filed a case against them on the basis of an RTI
finding. 23 year B.Ed student Sangh Ratan
Gautam's dead body was recovered from a
sugarcane field, days after he went missing.
Gautam had filed a case against the Public
Distribution System mafia, after an RTI
application revealed large scale fraud by the
department. Police suspect Gautam was killed
by a group of men from a local ration shop. 2
persons have been arrested in the case.
