Sahir Ludhianvi (8 March 1921 -- 25 October
1980) was a famous Urdu poet and Hindi lyricist
who gained huge stardom in the Hindi film
industry. His famous movies include Kabhi
Kabhie, Taj Mahal, Pyaasa, Baazi, Naujawan and
many more. He was honored with a Filmfare
award twice and a Padma Shri once, in his
lifetime. Sahir was the first one who insisted
on writing songs before the music was made
and also on getting credits for writing songs,
on Radio.
