SRPF Group 10 personnels shifted from the Gateway of India

The SRPF Group 10 personnels shifted from the Gateway of India monument to a nearby location to provide security for hotel Taj.
The State Archaeological and Museum department have acted upon MiDDAY story on SRPFs home sweet home at Gateway dated November 18, wherein the paper was first to highlight how the heritage monument was being misused by the security personnels.
The irony was that the SRPF had made it their temporary home. Cots, clothesline with the uniform and other clothes of the forces were hanging out. The monument was barricaded for the ordinary man.
The Archaeological department has now written a letter to the Principal Secretary (Tourism and Culture), Assistant Commissioner BMC A ward and Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1, wherein they have sighted MiD DAY report stating that violation has been done under section 7 (1) and 8 of the Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1962 (read box for what the section says).
Meena Joshi, Director Archaeology and Museum Department, state of Maharashtra, issued the one page letter written in Marathi addressed to all the concerned departments.
