Sugar price may rise on policy ills

Amid mounting apprehensions over the delay in the announcement of the new levy sugar price for the 2009-10 crushing season, the sugar industry has warned that increasing controls on the sector to keep prices down, coupled with higher international prices, could restrict imports and thereby make retail sugar even more expensive.
