Manisha chitte wife of 26/11 martyr consatble Arun Chitte

28-year-old Manisha Chitte recalls her husband every time she has to handle their finances, for it was her husband Arun Chittes duty. Almost a year after the terror attacks on Mumbai, Chittes widow is trying to cope with her busy life looking after their three young daughters. I am not well educated, so he always used to look after familys finances. I busy myself with other household work and my three daughters. They never make me remember that terrible day. said Chitte

After the terrorist captured the police Quails near a lane behind the Cama hospital and killed three senior police officers, they reached toward Metro Cinema junction and started random shooting at another police vehicle parked on the road. Chitte lost his life while firing at them from the junction. It was around 12.30 am that Manisha Chitte last spoke to her husband. I was watching TV and was constantly calling him. At around 12.30 am I asked him to come home. But he said to look after our daughters and not to worry about him. said tear eyed Chitte. She used to fear his job in police and always complained for not spending time with her. Once I complained to him for not showing me any movie, next day he brought home a new TV for me. said Chitte.

When asked is she happy about the compensation provided by the government and Mumbai Police, she said. They promised me a petrol pump thats still coming. But I am content with the monetary help given by the government. I want everyone to remember my husband in a good way.

Arun Chitte is survived by his daughters and wife Komal (11) Snehal (10) and Khushi (5). My husband always wanted three girls, he had asked me to put them in English medium school. He wanted his children to be big achievers. said Chitte. 10-year-old Shenal is good at drawing and would like to draw her fathers painting. I miss my dad because he used to get gifts sometimes for all of us, said Kushi.
