Bulletin # 1 - JNU students protest against poor security measures Nov. 23 '09

Students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) spilled out on the streets in a spontaneous show of strength to protest against the poor security measures in the campus. The protests were triggered after four drunken men entered the campus in the car and started misbehaving with girls. They even beat up the security guards who came to save the girls. When the police was called in, students of the campus poured out and demanded a senior police officer to come and address their woes. The car in which the men had come was also vandalized. The police had to resort to mild lathi charge and tear gas to disperse the crowd.
