Unbelievable India Controversy | Bribegate: No proof against Bansal

Congress on Sunday rejected the
opposition's demand for the
resignations of railway minister
Pawan Bansal over a bribery
scandal and law minister Ashwani
Kumar for vetting a CBI
investigation report on Coalgate,
fearing that succumbing to political
pressure would deepen the
perception of a graft-ridden
government.

The Congress core group, which
met for over two hours on Sunday
evening, felt Bansal's argument
that he was unaware of any
wrongdoings of his nephew Vijay
Singla, held for accepting a Rs. 90
lakh bribe for a top railway
appointment, might have some
merit and the results of a CBI
probe should be awaited.
