Minister of State Srikant Jena says he is
determined to get to the bottom of illegal
mining activity for which he accuses Odisha CM
Navin Patnaik. Jena spoke exclusively to NewsX
to sharpen his attack. On Monday, Jena had gone
public with claims that the Odisha CM has
allowed mining companies to exploit areas
outside their legal zones thereby making huge,
unaccounted profits. He claimed that Patnaik
colluded with mining barons and caused a loss
of 4 lakh crores to the state exchequer. The
allegations come on the back of evidence that
Jena has showing that 27 mining companies
being sent notices facing a fine of 58,000
