KASHMIR NEWS :Rescue work stepped up in Leh

The weather improved in Leh yesterday helping the rescue efforts gain speed in the area. Over 130 people lost their lives while 400 others are injured in the flash floods that sent rivers of mud down the desert mountainsides. With this the total number of injured has gone up to more than 600. The fear is that the mud will leave no breathing space and therefore there is little hope for those who are trapped in the debris.
