Locals toiled to pull out survivors

It was just before dawn and residents of Govindpur and Vikaspur, two small settlements near the Mathura railway station located barely a few metres from the railway track, were waking up to another day. A loud blast shocked them around 4.45am. After their initial shock, they rushed to the spot and helped as many as 15 people before the police and army came in. Since it was not daylight still, the villagers used mobile phone torches to locate survivors and help them out of the wreckage.
