As part of his union budget,
Finance Minister P Chidambaram
said today that India will set up a
special Public Sector Unit bank
solely for women, and to support
businesses run by women. Naina
Lal Kidwai, president of FICCI, and
country head for India and
director of Asia-Pacific at HSBC,
says that it is definitely a nice
move. She adds that the Budget
seems like a responsible one, but
one must look at the fineprint to
see where the government will be
spending before we rejoice.
