To ensure the better competition this years BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport) tender on the advertisements on BEST buses went in auction for the first time and also benefited in the history of BEST, after a bidding was close to Rs123crore by the Andheri based Bright outdoor media company. Due to the efforts of Uttam Khobragade a general manager of BEST first time the double benefit is being witnessed.

The tender was open for 60 crores, but after deciding that it should be kept on auction, five bidders had a good competition and finally one of the agency quoted for Rs123 crores, which was the double benefit in the history of the BEST. The bidding started from Rs60 crores onwards and it went to Rs123 crores, double then the tender amount according to the BEST officials. The bidding took place on November 25 in BEST main office. Where around 18 bidders were ready to participate, but only five were eligible according to the BEST criteria. The agency that was holding a contract of BEST bus advertisements gets over in March 2010.
