Protestors claimed that the main civic body was responsible for the city's water crisis. Mumbai has been in the grip of a severe water shortage and supply cuts of 15% to 30% have been imposed in many area.

When asked about the reason behind Dholakiyas death, Bhawle said, He did not die because of our Lathi charge, but he died in hospital of a severe heart attack.
Whereas protestors had a different say about the police brutality.
We were just protesting for water that is our basic rights, but what we got in return is our own blood. We had not expected such kind of treatment from police.
