A video of mother thrashing her 12-year-old daughter mercilessly in Karwar region of Karnataka has gone viral on social media. In the video the girl can be seen repeatedly pleading for mercy as the mother continues to beat her. A few neighbours can also be seen asking the woman to stop beating her daughter but their words went unheard as the mother continued to beat the daughter. Video clip of the incident was reported to the social welfare officials by the neighbours after which the girl was rescued while the mother was arrested by the police.
