The Armed Forces (Special Powers)
Act or AFSPA has been a subject of
controversy for long time now with
many politicians including those in
Jammu and Kashmir saying it
should be removed and their state
should be taken away from under
the Disturbed Areas Act. Others
especially those in the armed
forces say AFSPA is required to
give the army some protection. On
