Even as waves of protests continue across the country over the brutal gangrape of 23-year-old paramedical student in New Delhi, Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam has added fuel to the raging debate by making derogatory remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and TV actress Smriti Irani on a television show.
Reacting angrily to it, the BJP has demanded an apology from the Congress party while the actor-turned-politician has decided to file a defamation suit against Nirupam. In a TV discussion on ABP news channel, Nirupam attacked Smriti with references to her stint as a television actor.
