The Akali Dal has suspended Ranjit Singh Rana,
the party leader who brazenly shot dead a
Punjab police official. But is this action alone
enough? The government had all along turned a
blind eye to the man who was a habitual
offender, and whose eve-teasing and
harassment were ignored by the
administration.
