In another instance of eve-teasing horror, this
time in Punjab, a policeman was gunned down in
full public view after he opposed to some men,
including an Akali Dal activist, harassing his
daughter. The Akali Dal activist Ranbir Singh
Rana has been arrested while a search is on
for others involved. Police said that the
assistant sub-inspector Ravinderpal Singh on
being informed by his daughter, a bank
employee, about a group of men chasing and
harassing her, he rushed to Chehertha locality.
In the argument that ensued with the eve-
teasers, one of them shot him from point blank
range killing him on the spot. The assailants
thereafter escaped the spot in a car. The girl
had reportedly complained to her father that
the group of youth regularly intercepted her
while on her way to office and passed lewd
comments.
