Mohun Bagan can face a possible ban for two
years by All India Football Federation for
walking off the pitch after one of their key
players, Syed Rahim Nabi got injured during
their I-League clash against East Bengal.
Mohun Bagan did not send their players out for
the second half of the match while their rivals
East Bengal were already on the pitch. The
Bagan officials had written to the All India
Football Federation that decreasing player
safety issues resulted in that decision being
taken. Meanwhile, AIFF President Praful Patel
has said that they will take a call after taking
a note of the entire issue. The report
submitted by the match officials is likely to be
examined and discussed in this meeting to be
held in the national capital today.
