Tamil Nadu has been put on a cyclone alert
after a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.
The Met Department forecast heavy rains in
the state on Tuesday. Schools and colleges in
Chennai have decided to remain shut while
fishermen have been warned not to venture out
into the sea.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall on
Wednesday and it could hit anywhere between
Nagapattinam and Nellore.
