Rajat Gupta, a former Goldman Sachs Group
director, will come before Jed Rakoff in
Manhattan federal court today to be sentenced
for leaking stock tips to the now imprisoned
hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam. Gupta was
convicted by a jury in June this year in a
closely followed trial. Prosecutors say the IIT-
ian who is the most high profile Wall Street
Executive to be convicted in the U.S govt's
crackdown on Insider Trading, deserves 10
years in prison. 63-year-old Gupta was
convicted on three counts of securities fraud
and one count of conspiracy.
