Good News Jharkhand: CRPF reaches out to tribal women, trains them in life skills - India Special Video

In Jharkhand, there's a new wave of positivity,
especially among girls of the tribal areas. And
it's all thanks to the Central Reserve Police
Force's (CRPF) new initiative to provide them
with a better future. Stuck in a virtual civil
war with Naxals on one side and the
government forces on the other, the girls had
given up all hopes of moving ahead in life.
However, they now have been given a new hope
in the form of the Civil Outreach Programme
organised by the CRPF. Hailing from the worst
affected districts of Jharkhand like Palamu,
Lathehar and Dumka, over 400 girls are now
being trained in self-defence, nursing, house-
keeping and computers. But it's just not
Jharkhand, claims the CRPF. Similar
programmes have begun in most strife-torn
areas across the country.
