U. P Liquor Baron Ponty Chadha, known to be very close to U. P Chief Minister Mayawati was raided by Income Tax Department today. Ponty Chadha is sole liquor distributor in Uttar Pradesh and I-T sources say that each bottle sold in U.P is priced above MRP. The margin money is shared between Ponty and U. P politicians. The directorate of Criminal investigation of Income Tax raided 17 places belonging to Ponty in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh including his multiplexes in Noida and his farm house in Chattarpur spread over 1 3 acres
