After 4 years under total lockdown, Gaza's 1.5 million residents finally have a gateway to the outside world. Egypt's dropped the stringent security that Israel insisted on for its border crossing with the blockaded region. Israel's long struggled to keep Gaza's borders watertight, depriving people there in the hope of forcing Hamas out of power. Human rights groups cite the massive humanitarian cost - from food shortages, to the sick being unable to leave for simple treatment. But, as Paula Slier reports, a lifeline for Palestinians is a real headache for Tel Aviv.
