India Terror & rising hopes | Putting blast behind, German Bakery Reopens in Pune

German Bakery, the Pune-based
eatery that was ripped apart a
powerful blast, has been reopend
on Sunday after three years-three
months of the incident. This comes
a month after the Pune Sessions
Court convicted and sentenced
prime perpetrator Himayat Baig to
death for his role in the blast on
February 13, 2010.

The rebuilt bakery has at least 16
CCTV cameras and metal detectors
to ensure tight security. Renovated
at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5
crore, the eatery was thrown open
to customers on Saturday evening
by a new management, whose
earlier plan to reopen it on
February 13 was deferred due to a
technical issue as Pune Municipal
Corporation (PMC) insisted on
submission of a structural audit
report. (India Motivation, Inspiration, Good News, Special)
