Chaudhury is in the eye of a storm
once again, this time over DoT's
directive of blocking some 73 URLs
that had content critical of
Chaudhury's MBA institute IIPM.
The DoT move comes after a
Gwalior Court order to this effect.
The blocked URLs include content
from news websites, blogs and
even satire pieces written against
IIPM. The list of gagged URLs also
includes a UGC URL. Social media
is up in arms against DoT's move.
Minister of state for human
resource development Shashi
Tharoor has written to Ministry of
Communications and IT to remove
the UGC URL from the list of sites
on the block list.
